Hmmm, again not sure if this is the wording I like best (obviously this is all subjective semantic nit-pickery and I’m on board with what you’re saying) — “Repairing” suggests there was something wholly good about the actual foundations we, or any society, were built on, and not just the high-minded documents that inspired first-movers.

There’s something deeply disturbed in the human psyche in 2018, something that, when functioning in a system like the ones currently in play, tends towards the results we’re currently experiencing.

If (and that’s a big if) we were able to devise entirely new systems that accounted for the realistic expectations of 21st century human behavior and *disallowed* the heinous activities and repugnant ideologies that seem to pop up every few decades, we might have something to work with.
